1 Child Killed, 4 Injured in Ghazni Mortar Shell Explosion

One child was killed and another four wounded on Sunday when a mortar shell they were playing with exploded in Ghazni province of Afghanistan, a police official said.

The incident took place in Tawhid Abad area of Ghazni province at around 8:00 a.m., said Asadullah Shujaee, the security head of Ghazni police.

He told Ariana News the children were playing with the ordnance when it exploded.

According to the source, the wounded children have been taken to the nearby hospital for treatment.
