10th OCB meeting held in Kabul for Warsaw Summit
NATO member countries will announce their support for the ANSF beyond 2017 in the upcoming Warsaw Summit.
Afghanistan expects more support for ANSF as the country is leading the war against the Taliban insurgent group and other terrorist groups including the Islamic State (IS) on its own.
“We are trying to enhance our security services and bring transparency in our military administration and all other sectors,” Afghan finance minister Eklil Hakimi who was speaking at the opening of the Oversight and Coordination Body (OCB) meeting said.
The Warsaw Summit is expected to be held in Poland in another six months.
Deborah Lyons the Canadian ambassador to Afghanistan who is also leading the OCB meeting for Afghanistan said,” in Warsaw Summit the Afghan government and donor countries will gather to find a way for the stability of the Afghan Security Forces from 2018 to 2020″.
The main purpose of the meeting was to develop resource management, transparency, and accountability within the Afghan security institutions.
The donor nations for Afghanistan is expected to gather in October 2016 in Brussels to discuss their support for the development of the Afghan security institutions.
