15 militants killed, 13 injured in Afghan forces ‘Shafaq’ operation in Ghazni

Afghan security forces have killed 15 Taliban militants and injured 13 others in a military operation under the name of “Shafaq” during the last two days in Ghazni province of Afghanistan, a military spokesman claimed on Wednesday.

” The Afghan National Army (ANA) have launched Shafaq operation in Qarabagh, Ab-band, and Deh Yak districts of Ghazni province since two days and is still continuing,” Mohammad Noor, ANA Spokesman for Ghazni province told Ariana News.

According to the source Afghan forces have seized some weapons and ammunitions during the operation.

At least two Afghan Local Police have also sustained injuries during the clashes with the anti-government Taliban militant groups, Noor stated.

Taliban militants yet to make a comment about the incident.

Ghazni is among the volatile provinces in central-east part of the country where the Taliban militant groups are actively operating in a number of its districts.
