2 of 31 abducted passengers found dead in Zabul

Head of Zabul provincial council on Monday confirmed that two of the 31 abducted passengers in Kabul found dead.

Ata Jan Haq, head of Zabul provincial council said that one of the hostages who had his army ID card was killed by the abductors and another one was an old man who died due to the effects of cold weather.

Ata Jan Haq noted that the other abductees are hostages in Khake Afghan district of Zabul province.

Second deputy of the CEO, Muhammad Muhaqiq had confirmed that the 31 passengers were abducted by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militants; a newly-group named Daesh.

Afghan civil activists also criticized government of the audacity calling the leaders of national unity government for justice.

CEO Abdullah Abdullah also assured that the government has taken serious measures to release the abducted passengers, but avoided to provide details on the efforts because of security issues.

At least 31 passengers were abducted about weeks ago by a group of armed masked men from Shah Joy district of southern Zabul when they were travelling on Kabul-Kandahar highway.
