300 $ million injected in markets to maintain Afghan currency values

Officials in Afghanistan Central Bank has stated that different factors have caused the US dollar to hike against the Afghan currency in past several months.

Head of Afghanistan Central Bank said,” different issues like insecurity, war, decreasing of International aids have caused US dollar against Afghan currency.”

Officials in Afghanistan central Bank mentioned that 300 $ million has been sold into the markets to maintain the values of US currency.

Head of the Bank Khalilullah Sediqee said,” we have injected 300 $ million into the markets, in the past three months, and we will also sell 300 $ million into the markets.”

Based on the estimation Afghanistan Central Bank has 7 $ billion in its treasury,officials have urged that 2 $ billion is needed to maintain the Afghan currency values within the markets.

One US dollar was being exchanged in 69,35 Afghani in the markets.
