5 Police Killed in Bomb Blast in Khaki Jabbar District of Kabul

Five police personnel were killed in a bomb attack on the southern outskirts of Kabul the capital of Afghanistan on Friday.

According to a police source the explosion occurred late on Friday after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) struck a police van in Khaki Jabbar district of Kabul, killing five Afghan National Civil Order Poice (ANCOP) personnel.

The unit was travelling towards Kabul city from neighboring Azra district of eastern Logar province before being attacked, the source said.

Taliban claimed the responsibility of the attack saying a highway commander of government named Satar Hashimi was targeted along with another 4 police officers in Omarkhail area of Khaki Jabbar.

Afghan Interior Ministry has not made a comment about the incident yet.
