51 Killed, Wounded In Jalalabad Blast
A compound of Afghan intelligence agency called National Directorate of Security (NDS) was attacked early Saturday morning in eastern Jalalabad, officials confirmed.
A suicide bomber detonated his explosives at the entrance of NDS building around 4:30 am, governor’s spokesman said.
Referring from reporting on death toll, Ahmad Zia Abdulzai stated the strong bombing was later followed by fierce gunfire.
But the health director of Nangarhar, Najibullah Kamwal, expressed six corpses and 45 injured—26 of them in critical condition—were shifted to the hospital.
A security official told Ariana News on condition of anonymity that 5 of the dead persons were security personnel.
The Taliban in a statement to media have claimed responsibility for the attack.
