7 Ex- Afghan ministers to be prosecuted for corruptions

According to Attorney General’s Office of Afghanistan seven ex-ministers cases accused for corruption were referred to the Supreme Court by this office for further prosecutions.

Basir Azizi, General Attorney Office Spokesman who did not named the accused ministers said,” we have presented the cases of seven ex-ministers to the Supreme Court for further prosecutions, we are awaiting for the Supreme Court judgments and the President decree for opening an especial court”.

He added that we have also detained four prosecutors who were accused of corruption and they were involved in bribery.

Mr. Azizi declared in repose to a question regarding the largest Kabul Bank scandals who have fled the country,” we have finalized the cases of those who were involved in Kabul Bank embezzlement, but we are struggling to return those who have escaped to be trailed in one of Afghanistan’s courts”.

These statements comes after President Ghani opened Kabul Bank crisis case on first of October 2014 and asked the police and the attorney office to arrest the scandals and clear the case in three days.

Corruption is called the second biggest challenge in front of the Afghan National Unity Government (ANUG) after the security challenges.
