78 militants killed in air raids of Afghan forces: MoD

16 Taliban militants including the group’s shadow governor for Kabul were killed in Afghan air raid in east of Afghanistan, ministry of defense said on Sunday.

According to a statement released by the Afghan army 16 Taliban fighters were killed in Hesarak district of Nangarhar province during the Afghan air forces operation.

The Taliban so-called governor for Kabul Mawlawi Mumtaz Miakhail and a local commander of the insurgent group named Mullah Toor were killed in air raids while a vehicle of the militants was also seized by the infantry forces during the operation, the statement added.

At the same time MoD claims that 50 militants were killed in Raghistan district of Badakhshan and 12 others were killed in Abband district of Ghazni province and dozens others wounded in two operations conducted by the Afghan air forces.
