Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said on Wednesday that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision was to link the region with Central Asia and the European Union through a peaceful and stable Afghanistan.

In order to achieve this goal, political stability in Afghanistan was crucial, said Hussain.

Addressing the inaugural session of the Pak-Afghan Media Conclave organised by Pak-Afghan Youth Forum in Islamabad, Hussain said Pakistan wants a railway line between Gawadar port and Tashkent in Uzbekistan and in order to do this, peace in Afghanistan is vital.

He said a Gwadar port to Tashkent railway link would connect Central Asia with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and it would then link Central Asia with the European Union.

Pakistan’s APP news agency reported that Hussain stated US policies have failed in Afghanistan and both Pakistan and Afghanistan have paid the price.

APP reported that Hussain said Imran Khan believes no single faction can form a stable government in Kabul, and that all factions should sit together and form an inclusive dispensation to ensure peace and progress in the country.
