Abdullah Calls on Politicians to Avoid Divisions
“If we continue the rest of the way by having division and disagreements, I think this would be an opportunity for the enemies of Afghanistan,” Abdullah said while speaking in Kabul to commemorate the 10 death anniversary of victims of a deadly suicide attack in Baghlan.
Apparently, Abdullah’s remarks were in response to Atta Noor, the governor of Balkh province and Chief Executive of Jamiat Party, and Ismael Khan, a prominent Jahadi leader and former water and energy minister, in western Herat province of Afghanistan.
About two days ago, Noor who was speaking in Herat urged the government to dissolve the Independent Election Commission (IEC) and appoint new impartial commissioners.
On his turn, Ismael Khan said the National Unity Government should hand over power to an interim government until the next election.
Although the Chief Executive of the unity government called the premature elections and interim government as legitimate discussions, he urged the politicians not to sacrifice the national interest against their personnel demands.
At the same time; Mohammad Mohaqiq CE Second Deputy urged the government to listen to political movements demands.
“The political coalitions are demanding reforms. The sky would not fall to the ground if you recruit one or several people,” Mohaqiq stated,” listen to their demands and satisfy all parties involved.”
The participants of the gathering also criticized the insecurities and called on the opposition groups to accept peace with Kabul government.
Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi, the lower house of parliament speaker, criticized the previous and the current government for not investigating the killing of five MPs in Baghlan including Sayed Mustafa Kazemi.
Kazemi was killed among 78 others, including schoolchildren in a suicide attack during the inaugural of a sugar factory in northern Baghlan province in 2007.
