Afghanistan Cricket Board’s (ACB) Chairman Mirwais Ashraf and CEO Naseeb Khan attended the Asian Cricket Council’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Bali this week.

According to the ACB, member nations across Asia also attended. A number of financial and operational decisions were approved at the meeting, one of which was an increase in funding for the ACB.

In a statement issued Thursday by the cricket board, the ACB said: “In a significant move, the ACB’s request for the share of the budget equivalent to that of other full member countries including India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, was approved.”

ACB officials also met with their counterparts from other member countries present and discussed numerous issues including the need to increase the participation of Afghan umpires at ACC matches and the need for additional capacity-building efforts for the ACB’s technical staff by the Asian Cricket Council.
