Afghanistan Civil Society Election Network (ACSEN) emphasizes on consolidation of the election process; pressing the United Nation to guarantee the 100 percent reforms of electoral system.

ACSEN says that Parliament’s position in rejection of the President’s decrees has raised public concerns and a legal way for alternative to rejection of President’s decree about the election should be searched by the Parliament.

“We urge the government leaders that with the given strong demands of Afghan people and the international community stand by their commitments for reforms of electoral system and show their enthusiasm with legal measures,” said Teymor Hakimyar, a member of ACSEN.

After electoral reforms process become controversial the National Unity Government announced its position regarding the issue and sited that there is consensus about the process.

Meanwhile, The Government of National Unity guaranteed the upcoming elections to be transparent.

“The government guarantees the reform process and holding a transparent election in the next year and any justification in this regard is unacceptable,” said Sayed Anwar Ala Rahmati, adviser of second vice president.

This comes as the parliament previously rejected President’s decree regarding the electoral process.
