A number of parliament representatives on Wednesday warned that the Afghan districts are in danger of falling into Taliban’s hands.

They stressed that there is the possibility of repeating Jarliz and Badakhshan incident for the second time if the government does not pay serious attention to the security.

“Faryab’s situation is at risk of falling into opposition’s hands and if the two districts fall the condition of North will be worse,” Muhammad Hashim, representative of Faryab in parliament said.

Safiya Imaq, representative of Badqis said, “Bala Morghab district of Badghis is surrounded by Taliban.”

The representatives criticize government’s neglect over plans for providing security and warned that

“Do you want to encourage Afghan people to take weapons and provide their own security?,” Ahmad Behzad, representative of Herat said.

The Taliban has a permanent presence in 54% of Afghanistan and the country is in serious danger of falling into Taliban hands, according to a report by an independent thinktank with long experience in the area.

The lower house also instructed the House’s internal security and defense commission to begin investigation regarding the Jarliz incident.
