Afghan Forces Push Taliban Back From Around Farah

Farah province local officials said on Saturday that Afghan forces have forced Taliban militants to retreat from Bagh-e Pul area of the province.

Mohammad Ghaws Malyar provincial security chief of Farah told Ariana News that clashes continues in Barangtot, Deh Yak, Bagh-e Pul, and Shor Abad areas to push Taliban back from around the city.

According to local officials Taliban militants have been defeated in Bagh-e Pul area and had retreated about one kilometer from the area.

Malyar added that during the heavy fighting more than hundred militants have been killed and those areas which were under Taliban control have now been retaken by the security forces and at the moment they are carrying out clearance operations.

This comes as Taliban are fighting in several fronts since weeks in an attempt to capture the capital of the western Farah province, but now Afghan security officials emphasize that Taliban would be defeated soon.
