Afghan military officials claim they have taken control of Chahar Dara district of Kunduz province last night after ground and air offensives.

A security source has told to Ariana News correspondent that currently they are controlling governmental buildings in the district including the district governor’s office and police HQ office.

Adding, some weapons and ammunitions have been seized by Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) following operations.

According to the reports the district was Taliban’s military base and they still control parts of the district.

Afghan security forces have intensified attacks against Taliban insurgents after the group collapsed northern Kunduz province weeks ago and Monday raided over Ghazni province in an attempt to capture the district, but they were pushed back by Afghan forces immediately.
