Afghan Parliament Demand Sanctions against Pakistan

The international community must blacklist and impose sanctions on Pakistan because the country is the main factor of war in Afghanistan, a member of Afghan parliament said on Saturday.

“We are requesting all countries who have signed international treaties against terrorism to blacklist states which are sponsoring terrorism in order to avoid its harm to its neighbors and the world,” Afghan parliament first deputy speaker Hamayoun Hamayoun said.

Meanwhile, the lawmakers are demanding the Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) between Kabul and Washington to be reviewed, reasoning it has been proved useless to stabilize Afghanistan.

“Pakistan’s business over the blood of Afghans resulted to the growth of this country. For the sake of God, let’s discuss on this Bilateral Security Agreement and directly talk with the Americans and ask them what is their policy for Afghanistan,” said MP Obaidullah Barekzai a member from the Uruzgan province.

Makhdom Abdullah Mohammadi an MP from Samangan province said one of the reasons behind insecurities is the existence of vehicles without registration numbers. He urged the Afghan Ministry of Interior to pay attention to this important issue.

Lawmakers also emphasized that there will be no stability unless the countries supporting Afghanistan fulfill their promises to equip Afghan forces.
