Afghan Parliament Disqualified 3 Ministers for Poor Performance

Members of the lower house of the parliament have sacked Minister Foreign Affairs Salahuddin Rabbani, Minister of Public Works Mahmood Baligh and Minister of labor, social affairs, and martyred and disabled Nasreen Oryakhail all 3 Ministers failed to win the confidence votes of the parliament on Saturday.

All three were dismissed for their performance and failure to spend all allocated budgetary funds for the year of 1394. Reports are there that the other fourteen Ministers are due to face similar confidence votes.

MP Hafiz Mansour said, “There is no program within the Ministries to enable the staffs to consume the allocated budgetary funds, we have seen no designed draft to help projects to be launched, how can they allocate aids to boost the economy.”

Former Minister of Foreign Minister Salahudding Rabbani said, “ The reports which were given to the lower house of the parliament about the spending of the budgetary funds are not precise, we have spent more than 70 percent of our allocated budget, but there were some barriers on spending the budgets.”

Meanwhile former Minister of Public works Mahmood Balegh said,” I admit that the current existed system does not meet the ongoing demands of the everyone specially myself, that’s why it stopped the officials within the Ministry not spend the allocated budget.”

However Minister of labor, social affairs, and martyred and disabled Nasreen Oryakhail said, “ in most part we were not independently proceeding our duties, based on the President decree we recruited none staffs , this stopped everyone not to be able to consume the budget.”

Members at the lower house of the parliament have demanded the National Unity Government to introduce the other Ministers who failed to spend the budgetary funds.

Chairman of the lower house Abdul Raud Ibrahimi said, “3 ministers were sacked today, demanding the National Unity Government to introduce other ministers who failed to spend the allocated budgets.”

Members at lower house are due to summon the Ministers of Finance, Education, and Transportation on Sunday.
