Afghan Police Seizes Bus with tons of Explosives in Nangarhar

Afghan Police have seized a bus carrying 6,250 kilograms of Ammonium Nitrate in eastern Nangarhar province which is used in making Improvised Explosive Devices (IED).

The explosives packed bus was seized during the police check-up in Marko village of Ghanikhil district, the Interior Ministry said in a statement Monday. 

The driver of the bus is detained and investigations are underway in regard, the statement added.

 The insurgent groups use Ammonium Nitrate to make IED and to target government officials and institutions.

Months ago, the Afghan Intelligence operatives have seized two trucks at Torkham crossing which were carrying 35700 Kilograms of Ammonium Nitrate from Pakistan.
