Afghan soldier killed in suicide car bomb in Kandahar

A suicide car bombing targeting a government compound in the southern Kandhar province has killed one soldier and wounded three others.
Spokesman of Kandahar governor, Samim Khpalwak the attack happened on Thursday morning at a checkpoint in Arghandab district in the center of the province.
He says a total of five attackers were killed, one of them blew the car up and the other four tried to enter the district governor’s compound.
No group has claimed responisbility behind the attack so far.
The Taliban control or contest a belt of key districts of Afghanistan provinces and they may use its presence in this belt to threaten Kandahar city. The loss of the city would be a major blow to the Afghan government.
