Afghan, Tajik Officials Sign Sixth MoU of Economic, Trade Cooperation

Sixth Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of Economic and Trade cooperation signed on Friday between Afghanistan and Tajikistan.

Based on the agreement which was signed with Transport Minister of Tajikistan in Kabul on Friday, the two neighboring countries will continue to cooperate in the fields of trade, transit, oil extraction and energy sector.  

“We will jointly work to expand the trade relations between two countries and soon to executive the issues remained from previous agreements,” said Afghan Minister of Economy, Abdul Satar Murad.

The Transport Minister of Tajikistan also stressed on his country’s willingness to expand trade relations with Afghanistan.  

” Alike Afghanistan, Tajikistan also has no route to ocean and we to expand our trade relation through Afghanistan, and from here export our products to other countries,” said Tajik Transport Minister, Khudayar Khudayarzada Zuqibeg.

At the moment, Afghanistan and Tajikistan have $75 million trade relations and the two countries are seeking to expand their cooperation further.
