Afghanistan Appoints South Africa’s Ryan Maron as Fielding Coach

Former South African cricketer Ryan Maron has been appointed as fielding coach for the Afghan national cricket team, Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) said Thursday.

The appointment of 42-year-old Ryan Maron comes as the team is preparing for first T20I and ODI series against hosts West Indies and a match against Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) at Lord’s in London in July.

Maron is a qualified Cricket South Africa Level III coach and as coached in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, and Denmark.

He is expected to join Afghan cricketers training camp in India before heading to West Indies for the competition which starts on June 2.
