Afghanistan beat South Africa by 47 runs in U19 tri-series

Afghanistan Under-19 cricket team defeated hosts South Africa by 47 runs in the tri-nation tournament on Sunday.

Sent to bat first by South Africa who won the toss, Afghanistan made 176 before they were all out in the 39 overs.

Rahimullah Zurmati hit 47 while Jamshid Zadran and Hassan Eisakhil contributed with 33 and 31 each respectively.

Defending the 177-run target, Afghanistan bowled out South Africa on 129 in the 30.4 overs.

Arab Gul and Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar were the pick of the bowlers for Afghanistan as they claimed four wickets each.

The U-19 tri-series in South Africa began on Friday when India defeated Afghanistan by 6 wickets.

The next match of the series will be between India and South Africa on Tuesday.
