Afghanistan Becomes Member of International Transparent Governance

Afghanistan became the member of the International Transparent Governance on 9th of December 2016, the membership would require that Afghanistan to take concrete steps to fight corruption in the country, amid Officials in National Procurement Authority (NPA) said the object of the membership is to fight corruption in procurement sector.

The National procurement authority strategic advisor Mohammad Suhail Kakar said, “We are committed to implement the requirement to help and improve the reformation sector.”

Meanwhile the integrity watch of Afghanistan supports Afghanistan on having the membership but insisted that the Government to take serious step to fulfill the commitments of the International transparent Governance.

Chairman of Integrity Watch of Afghanistan Ikram Afzaly said, “The membership of Afghanistan does not have to focus on Good Governance but it should eliminate all the existed issues by owning the membership.”

The International Transparent Governance was established on 2011, where 75 countries are the members by now, one of the preconditioning of the Organization is if one of the countries fails to fulfill the commitments it will be automatically lose the membership.
