Afghanistan flag raised in Rio’s Olympic village

On August 1, the ceremony of raising Afghanistan three-color flag took place in Rio’s Olympic village “Brazil”, which will host the summer games on August 5-21.
Afghanistan sport convoy, headed by Ghulam Rabani Rabani presented in the ceremony.
The ceremony of raising the national flags of the participating countries precedes the official opening of the Olympic games symbolizes the Olympic readiness of the country to participate in the Games.
Rio’s Olympic Village mayor officially greeted the Olympic participants.
The ceremony included performance of the national anthems by athletes, coaches, officials and leaders of the National Olympic Committees, as well as a greeting by mayor of the Rio Olympic Village and an exchange of Olympic souvenirs.
