President Muhammad Ashraf Ghani on the celebration day of Mujahidin’s victory said that Afghanistan will stand against all conspiracies and would not allow enemies to reach to their targets.

Ashraf Ghani noted that all negotiations will be held based on the principles and interests of the Afghan government and no one would never be given any bonus contrary to the national interests.

“The National Unity Government has never wanted to deal the history of five hundred years of Afghanistan. We do not want war and we will fight against anyone who stand against us,” said President Ashraf Ghani.

The second vice president, Sarwar Danish has also emphasized that the Taliban group is heirs of previous governments and ranked against people with the same spirit of anti-cultural and anti-freedom.

Meanwhile, the chairman of Ulema council said that the armed oppositions of the government have no justification for continuing the war.

“Jihad against Islamic countries and Muslims has no permission and the activities of oppositions are against all Islamic principles,” Muwlavi Qeyamuddin Keshaf said.

Afghanistan must now reconcile with the groups that have wreaked havoc in the country’s villages and cities for the past years.

The country suffered almost 5,000 civilian casualties only during the first half of 2015; nearly 30,000 Afghan soldiers and policemen were killed from 2009 to mid-2015. December saw a 57 percent rise in civilian casualties.

Afghans, more than anyone else, want an end to the conflict. But, unlike their international partners, they do not want peace at any cost. They are not willing to forsake the gains of the past 15 years.
