Naseer Janjua, a former national security adviser of Pakistan said that if there was not the generous support of Pakistan to Afghan Mujahideen, the name of Afghanistan and its map would have been removed from the world map.

Janjua blames Afghanistan for the ongoing terroristic activities across the country, citing,” If Pakistan wouldn’t stand with Afghans during 1980s in support of their Jihad against soviet union, a country in the name of Afghanistan would not existed anymore. Now, every problem we have is because of Afghanistan.”

But; back in Kabul, the government says, Pakistan hugely benefited from the Jihad of Afghans by asking tons of cashes in support of Mujahideen; supports that the fighters were barely receiving it.

“The whole region benefited from the Jihad, in particular, Pakistan. in fact, the Jihad of Afghans were a kind of armored shield for a country like Pakistan,” Jawed Fiasal, a spokesperson for Afghan CEO said.

However; number of political circles in Pakistan, meanwhile deems support of Afghan Mujaheden a strategic mistake committed by Pakistan.

“Former government of Pakistan by involving in Afghanistan Jihad did a big mistake. The act finally lead to extremist groups find a save heaven in Pakistan. this would lead to more bloodshed in Pakistan.” Omran Khan, head of Tahrik Insaf of Pakistan said.

Pakistan once have announced supporting jihad in Afghanistan is a religious duty on the shoulders of Pakistan, but experts say, with Pak-Russian relations getting on to a new phase, the country respectively labels those ‘duties’ a ‘mistake’.
