War in Afghanistan has displaced nearly 100.000 Afghan families from eleven provinces of the country this year, Presidential Palace said.

According to Presidential Palace, nearly 95575 families flee homes and have gone for homelessness; But 31 percent of the displaced people have returned back and other 69 percent are still homeless.

“Of the 95.575 displaced families 29.456 of them form 31 percent refugees who returned back, but the other 69 percent have not returned to their homes so far,” said Muhammad Haroon Chakhansori, President’s spokesman.

Kunduz, Farah, Urozgan, Helmand and Nangarhar provinces have the most displaced people; While the continuation of war does not allow them to return back to their homes.

“The aids were not properly distributed in the past, but now a mechanism has been made for the transparency of the distribution process,” Chakhansoori added.

ARG says aid distribution is continuing at three stages to displaced people which the program includes providing facilities for the return of refugees back to their provinces.

This comes as the government has assured to not allow refugees to be vulnerable in the cold.

The government is worried about the return of refugees to areas where insurgents are active. But right now, the Taliban control more territory than at any time since 2001.

Reports have already surfaced of returning refugees clashing with locals over resources and land.

The displaced are often rejected, or pushed into squalid camps. They also face the threat of forced eviction and rarely have access to clean water or food.
