Kankor Exam Results To Be Announced Soon

The results of Afghanistan’s nationwide university entrance exam called Kankor will be announced on the early days of the upcoming week, the Ministry of Higher Education declared on Friday.

“The Kankor technical team is working hardly on the results. We are trying to announce the results at the beginning of the week,” the Ministry of Higher Education Spokesman Hamid Obaidi said.

According to the official, more than 200,000 students appeared in the latest annual entrance exam. Of which, 62,000 made it to state-run higher/semi-higher education institutions and the rest will be referred to private institutions.

“During the last week, the ministry of higher education had successive meetings with private higher education institutions. Ultimately, we are trying to refer all those applicants who didn’t made it to state-run institutions to private institutions free of charge or with a considerable discount,” Obaidi added.

The result of the entrance exam was supposed to be announced four-months before as the Afghan academic year started in March 25.
