Afghans are fighting in Syria for Assad regime, Syrian oppositions and ISIL, Afghan Minister of Refugees and Repatriations has said.

“Refugees from different countries are fighting in Syria, Afghans are fighting in both sides, alongside oppositions groups, ISIL and governmental forces, as this is a consulate related issue I have no specific plans,” Sayed Hussain Alemi Balkhi, Minister of Refugees and Repatriations said.

Lack of employment is one of the main reasons why Afghan refugees are joining Syrian fighters, but Afghan minister says more than 40,000 Afghans have returned to the country this year who are living without a huge problem.

After the National Unity Government (NUG) inaugurated and foreign forces downsized their military presence in Afghanistan the unemployment level was tremendously decreased.

Experts believe if the NUG fails to provide employment opportunities most of Afghans will escape the country to seek a better life that will face with horrible consequences.
