AJSC Saddened by Death of Nematullah Zahir, Ariananews Reporter
The committee urges on government to form Special Forces for protecting journalists in Afghanistan.
“The loss of Zahir is really painful that we all feel it, the important issue is that this year was the bloodiest year for journalists in Afghanistan,” Said Najibullah Sharifi, the chairman of AJSC.
“These incidents should be recorded among Taliban’s war crimes, because it is an act of war against human train law,” said Mujib Khelwatgar, CEO of Supporting Open Media in Afghanistan.
This incident has shocked a large number of journalists, they demand the government to make further efforts for protecting journalists in the country.
“We offer our deepest condolences and call on all parties to end their crimes and do not target the journalists,” said Sayed Ehsan Dadzay, head of journalists council in north.
Hafizullah Barikzai, chairman of Afghanistan Journalists Council also said, “It is very clear that the lack of coordination have caused this problem, even journalists flee the country in this situation.”
Ariana News provincial reporter, Nematullah Zaheer was killed and another was wounded in an explosion in Lashkargah of Helmand province of Afghanistan on Friday.
