ANA, ANCOP Convoy Attacked In Helmand, Soldiers Killed

A suicide bomber has attacked a convoy of Afghan National Army (ANA) and Afghan National Civil Order Police (ANCOP) soldiers in southern Helmand province, officials said.

Spokesman of Helmand governor, Omar Zowak, confirmed the incident that took place in the two-way of Kandahar-Herat highway, in the city of Lashkargah, capital of southern Helmand on Saturday afternoon.

He added two ANCOP soldiers were killed and five ANA soldiers were injured in the blast.

But the commander of 215th ANA Maiwand Corps, Gen. Ghulam Farooq, has said 4 ANA soldiers were killed in the incident but there was no report of injuries.
