ANHAM illegally imported armored vehicles to Afghanistan

ANHAM, a private company has imported more than five hundred armored vehicles to Afghanistan without payment of customs, according to documents related to Attorney General’s Department.

Ariananews finds documents that indicates a private company under the name of ANHAM has imported five hundred and fifteen armored vehicle to the country without payment of any customs.

The documents relating to the Attorney General’s Department has been accused the private company of corruption in numerous cases.

The documents also shows that these vehicles were rented to the foreign troops and some officials of ministry of finance are involved in this case.

In the meantime, spokesman of the ministry of finance, Abdul Qader Jilani has said that if the customs of these vehicles are not paid, the private company must pay the customs and those who have been involved in this case should be prosecuted.

None-payment of customs for more than five hundred armored vehicles also raised concerns of a number of Parliament representatives.

Government regulation and taxation of the vehicle market is primarily the responsibility of Afghanistan customs offices, the Ministry of Finance, and the Traffic Department of the Ministry of Transportation, although many agencies can be involved in the registration of vehicles for international organizations.
