At least four civilians were killed in an explosion in PD6 in Kabul city on Thursday evening, police said.

According to police, an IED targeted a passenger vehicle in the Pul-e-Sokhta area of PD6 in the west of the city.

At least five others were wounded in the blast, police added.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The explosion took place hours after a private car was targeted in a magnetic IED explosion in the Charqala area of PD6.

At least four people were killed and four others wounded in that explosion, police said.

This comes amid a surge in explosions targeting civilians in the western parts of Kabul city in the past few days.

IED blasts on Tuesday targeted two public transport Coaster buses in the Sar-e-Kariz and Almas-e-Gharb Street areas in PD3, only a kilometer away from Thursday evening’s blast.

At least ten civilians were killed and 15 others were injured in the blasts.
