Appellate Court Also Awards Death Penalty to Paghman Convicts

Five convicts of Paghman robbery and rape cases have been awarded death penalty for the second time during the second trial session by the Appellate court in Kabul.
Five of the seven convicts were sentenced to death while the two others were sentenced each to 20 years in jail.
The verdict of the appellate court came after the Kabul primary court in an open trial session last week also awarded death penalty to all the seven suspects of Paghman tragic incident.
According to the court decision, the offenders were involved in the robbery and rape of a family in Paghman district of Kabul.
Last month, a group of armed men robbed and raped four women of a family who were returning from a wedding in Paghman.
