Atta Noor Accuses ARG of Provoking Ethnic Dissensions

Atta Mohammad Noor, Governor of northern Balkh and the leader of Jamiat-e-Islami Party of Afghanistan accused the Presidential Palace (ARG) of provoking ethnic dissensions.

Speaking at the first gathering of new ‘Coalition for Salvation of Afghanistan’ in Mazar-e-Sharif on Tuesday, Noor criticized the government over monopolization of power.

“We want justice and participation of all ethic sects in [power], minor  in ARG even provoked dissension among Pashtuns,” Noor said.  

 He also raised concerns over the security situation in country.

He said the security is deteriorating in the country and hundreds of Afghans are losing their lives, adding that the incompetent security officials should be dismissed.

Governor Noor also demanded unconditional return of First Vice President, General Abdul Rashid Dostum to Kabul and to in his main position.

On its part, Second Deputy to Chief Executive, Mohammad Mohaqiq said that with formation of new coalition, the government has no voting power to continue.

Mohaqiq said that they are not aiming to topple the government or commit violence but to bring reforms in the government.

“With formation of National Unity Government, dissentions and injustice have raised,” Mohaqiq added.

He also called on the government to do not prevent return of VP Dostum to the country.
