Authorities start investigating usurped land of Hindu and Sikh communities

The Land-Grabbing Prevention and Restitution Commission has started investigating cases of usurped land belonging to Hindu and Sikh communities across the country, the Ministry of Justice announced Saturday.
The ministry said in a statement it has instructed technical teams in the capital and in provinces to identify usurped land belonging to Hindu and Sikh communities and land at risk of being grabbed.
The statement emphasized that the protection of land, where owners are not present in the country, is the responsibility of the government.
The Ministry of Justice has asked Hindu and Sikh communities to share their documents of land ownership and other information with the provincial technical teams so that necessary measures can be taken.
