Azad University of Iran, first friendly rival for Afghanistan National Futsal Team

Afghanistan National Futsal Team which takes preparations for a strong presence in Asian Football Confederation AFC Futsal Championship will face Azad University of Iran in its first friendly match on Tuesday night.

The Azad University of Iran is in the 1st league of Iran and considers one of the powerful futsal teams of Iran.

Iran is one of the top six teams of the world’s Futsal which always gain triumph in Asia.

Officials in Afghanistan Futsal Committee say that the friendly match against Iran can lead the Afghan team with better preparations to AFC Futsal Championship.

Afghanistan National Futsal team has been drawn into one group with Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan teams.

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) approved Tajikistan as a venue of the qualifying tournament Asian Futsal Championship- 2016 in the central zone.

Qualifying competitions will be held from 14 to 16 November in a new sports complex “Qasri Varzish” in Khujand, which seats 2670 spectators.

The Afghanistan national futsal team is controlled by the Afghanistan Football Federation, the governing body for futsal in Afghanistan and represents the country in international futsal competitions.
