Banning of female mimics in Kandahar contrary to laws: MoIC

Officials in Ministry of Information and Culture have during an official letter have declared the recent decision of the Kandahar Governor on banning the female mimics and songs to be published within the local radio stations in the entire province, contrary to Afghanistan’s constitution, and freedom of speech principle.

After Ariana News published a report over the issue the officials in Ministry of information and culture have sent an official letter demanding the Kandahar Governor to respect the existed laws.

Ministry of Information and Culture Spokesman Haroon Hakimi said,” We can’t accept the decision made the local Governor, his action has been condemned and we demand the Governor to respect the laws within his territory.”

Meanwhile officials in Mass media watch in Afghanistan demanded the penalty of the two local officials who have decided by their own and ignoring the laws.

Head of the Mass media watch Sediqullah Tauhidi said,” President Ghani should punish those who are working in Afghanistan Government body and break the laws.”

Earlier in an official letter the local Governor of Kandahar had asked all the local media radio stations to stop mimics of female and female songs.
