Baradar discusses developments in Nangarhar with local stakeholders

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, met with various officials, ulema members, tribal leaders and businessmen in Nangarhar on Tuesday where he emphasized at an event that the Islamic Emirate’s commitment to fostering Afghanistan’s development and industrialization.

Accompanied by the Minister of Public Works, Mullah Muhammad Isa Sani, Baradar highlighted the goal of generating domestic electricity to fuel the country’s economic growth.

He also announced the Islamic Emirate’s focus on turning the single-lane Kabul-Jalalabad highway into a double carriageway in order to boost trade and transit.

He said the Minister of Public Works is set to present the plan to the IEA’s supreme leader Hibatullah Akhundzada for approval.

Baradar also shared plans to decrease customs tariffs on talc exports, which aims to support traders in Nangarhar.

He highlighted the Islamic Emirate’s effective resolution of issues faced by returning refugees, achieved through well-coordinated efforts with relevant organizations and national businessmen.

Baradar extended a welcoming invitation to all Afghan refugees abroad, encouraging their return and assuring them of the Islamic Emirate’s support to the best of its ability.

In conclusion, he assured the people of Nangarhar that the Islamic Emirate is committed to addressing their concerns gradually, utilizing available resources. He urged the people to be grateful for the improved security in the country and encouraged support for the Islamic Emirate.
