Canadian Ambassador Calls Corruption Dangerous as Terrorism

In an exclusive interview with Ariana News, Kent Nephled, the Canadian ambassador to Kabul stressed on the importance of eradicating corruption.

Nephled says his government fully supports anti-corruption efforts in Afghanistan.

The Canadian diplomat insists on the restarting the long-delayed peace process as the only way for armed insurgents of Afghanistan.

“The insurgents must understand that what they are following now is destructive with no future landscape. It’s highly needed they put their weapon aside and talk with Afghan government and its allies,” Raphled added.

Canada has been one of the main supporters of Afghanistan in its nation-building efforts in the past 17 years.

The country recently in the Brussels conference on Afghanistan announced it will support of the NATO assistance mission in Afghanistan throughout 2020.

Canada as well has had an important stake on fighting with polio and women and girls empowerment steps in the country.
