Car bomb targets ALP training center in south of Afghanistan

At least three Afghan Local Police (ALP) were killed and 12 others injured as a car bomb targeted a police training center in Marja district of the southern Helmand province on Saturday, provincial governor spokesman, Omar Zawak said.

Local authorities said that a car laden with explosives was detonated inside an ALP training center in Tarikh Nawar area of Marja district on Saturday morning.

A security source who was speaking with Ariana News on the condition of anonymity said,” at least 4 people were killed and 13 others injured as the car bomb targeted the training center in Marja district of Helmand province”.

Officials in Helmand emergency hospital confirms that it has received one dead body and 12 others including two students being injured as a result of the explosion.

A Taliban spokesman has claimed the responsibility of the attack.

Helmand is among the volatile provinces in south of Afghanistan where the Taliban anti-government militants are actively operating in a number of its districts and usually carry out deadly attacks against the Afghan military and governmental officials.
