A number of traders from Central Asian countries are willing to invest in different parts of Afghanistan, officials said Monday.

Afghanistan has nearly two billion USD trade relation with Central Asian countries each year, particularly in petroleum production and construction.

Ibrahim Tamseel, adviser to President Ghani’s special envoy for Central Asian countries said that the traders from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan want to invest in railway lines, textile activities and electric tools production.

“We are not only concentrating on imports but want to attract their [Central Asian countries] investment that includes in railway line and Dry Port,” Tamseel said.

Indicating security and corruption as major challenges that hinder investment in Afghanistan Tamseel said that the leadership of the government and relevant ministries are determined to facilitate conditions for investment in the country.
