China has proposed setting up a forum to restart Afghanistan peace talk process in the country.
According to Reuters China put forward a proposal for a “peace and reconciliation forum” that Afghan officials said would gather representatives from Afghanistan, Pakistan, China and the Taliban command.
The Chinese plan, discussed at a recent meeting of nations taking part in the “Istanbul Process” on Afghanistan’s future, comes as U.S.-led combat troops prepare to withdraw from Afghanistan after 13 years of war.
However, experts do not believe such a summit would have a result that the armed oppositions of the country come to the negotiation table for the peace talks.
In the meantime, the National Peace Council hopes that China can successfully set up the summit and emphasized that this summit will have a positive result.
A number of members of Parliament also said that the government should adjust its foreign and domestic policies to bring peace in the country.
Earlier, President Ashraf Ghani has said that soon Afghanistan will have achievements in the peace process with the cooperation of China.
