Afghan Special Forces in the past two weeks made fresh gains against the armed oppositions of the government, killing nearly 60 armed oppositions and wounded dozens in several parts of the country.

The interior minister declared that these forces are equipped with sophisticated combat equipment and are ready for any operations.

“Our Special Forces with adequate facilities and special training could gain many achievements in providing security in 34 provinces of the country. Nearly 56 militants killed in 40 operations from all across the country,” said Norulhaq Ulomi, interior minister.

Ulomi noted that the Afghan Special Forces are conducting dangerous operations in coordination with air forces in the most insecure areas of the country.

“Recently, the Afghan forces operations show that our soldiers in comparison to the region are in the top level,” Ulomi added.

The security situation in Afghanistan has significantly worsened in the last months, with the violent Islamist group the Taliban carrying out offensives on the country’s big cities.

Afghan soldiers and police struggle to contain an escalating insurgency that has targeted several cities in recent weeks.

Despite the security forces’ advancement, Taliban and other terrorist groups are still a big threat to Afghan people.
