‘Coalition For Saving Afghanistan’ Soon to Announce Its Presence in Kabul

Three Afghan political parties have formed new coalition so-called “Coalition For Saving Afghanistan’, the alliance is due to announce its presence in Kabul within two weeks, Spokesman of Junbish-e-Milli party said Friday.

The “Coalition For Saving Afghanistan’ has been formed by Junbish-e-Milli, Hizb-e-Wahdat-e-Islami and Jamiat-e-Islami parties which are respectively led by Vice President Abdul Rashid Dostum, Second Deputy of the CEO Mohammad Mohaqiq and Governor of Balkh Atta Mohammad Noor, following their meeting in Ankara of Turkey.

“Within two weeks, the High Coalition For Saving Afghanistan will announce its presence in Kabul. Having role in upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections would be the key program of the coalition,” Spokesman of Junbish-e-Milli party,Bashir Ahmad Taenj said.

Following the formation of the alliance, Dostum in a Facebook post said: “In the trilateral meeting the overall situation in Afghanistan discussed – including the fragile situation in north, governance issues, rising insecurity, corruption, injustice and autocracy and  emphasized on bringing reforms in the government.”

A close figure to Dostum who is also a member of Junbish-e-Milli party said that the new coalition was formed to address the performance of the government which is known to be in a “wrong path”.

“The coalition aims to fight against widespread corruption in the government, autocracy and monopolies of a circle in the Presidential Palace,”  Close figure to Dostum, Mohammad Azim Qoyash said. 

This is not the first time that Afghan politicians forming coalition; a number of alliance has been formed in the past which proved unstable at the end.
