Corruption more dangerous than Taliban, other extremist groups: Ulomi

Afghanistan interior minister is said to consider corruption is more dangerous than Taliban and other extremist groups and emphasized on serious fight against this phenomenon.

Norulhaq Ulomi, the interior minister in a meeting with Afghan tribal leaders said that brining peace and stability to the country depends on national unity.

Ulomi noted that government is committed to bring stability to the country and urged Afghan people to cooperate with government to bring Taliban to the negotiation table.

He stressed that with holding public Jirgas we can persuade disaffected groups to abandon violence.

“Taliban and other groups are not the biggest threats as corruption for our country. People and the government should try and cooperate to bring the oppositions to the negotiation table.” Ulomi said.

According to the interior minister, it the local administrations honestly work, the challenges of Afghan villagers would be reduced.

Ulomi also declared that despite the world’s pressures, the neighboring countries were not honestly act against Afghanistan in the past three decades.

Afghan government says to consider peace talks with Taliban the only aperture to end war in the country. But in the past 13 years, Afghan government and international donors failed to persuade Taliban group to abandon violence.
