Daesh Beheads 15 of Its Own Fighters in Nangarhar

The so-called Islamic State (IS) also known as Daesh has beheaded 15 of their fighters in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan, officials said Thursday.

Provincial governor spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani, said the incident has taken place on Wednesday afternoon in Surkhab Bazar, Momandara area which is located in Achin district of the province as a result of “internal rifts”.

He added that recently reports suggest “intense oppositions” between the insurgents groups, so they have launched fighting and killing each other.

According to the official, the Afghan security forces have also launched a joint air and ground operations in Korkorai, Kojra, Pain and Myagul areas of Haska Mena district in which at least 10 Daesh militants have been killed so far.

The Daesh insurgent group has not made a comment about the report yet.

The group has been active in Afghanistan since 2015, fighting Afghan and U.S. forces and also the Taliban insurgents.
