Afghanistan Presidential Palace-(ARG) says the Vice-President, Gen. Dostum’s case is not political.

Acting spokesman of President’s office, Shah Hussain Murtazawi noted the government is not seeking to make cases and files for government officials and has no reason to do that.

“There is nothing political in judicial institutions and no reason for the government to make files for government officials,” said Shah Hussain Murtazawi.

However, the spokesman of Gen. Dustom has once again stressed on Ishchi’s case which is political.

A political rival of Vice President Abdul Rashid Dostum  has previously accused him of torture and rape with an assault rifle after being abducted by General Dostum guards.

The political rival, Ahmad Ishchi claimed he was badly abused by the general, who was the acting president at the time because President Ghani was out of the country, and by the general’s men.

Earlier, President Ghani has said that he takes the allegations against General Dostum seriously and that the case will be handled fairly within the judicial system to show that no one is above the law.

Ghani has told Western diplomats that he is tired of officials breaking the law with impunity, and he characterized the Dostum case as a make-or-break challenge to his government.
