Efforts Underway to Finalize Lajaward Transit Road Agreement: MTCA

Officials in Ministry of Transportation and Civil Aviation (MTCA) have said that serious efforts are underway since two years ago to help Afghanistan to be connected with other countries by roads; Citing achievements obtained and the Lajaward Transit Road Agreement will be finalized in the near future.

Ministry of Transportation and Civil Aviation Spokesman Hekmatullah Quianch said, “Efforts are underway to help Afghanistan’s transportation come out of the current situation, we will soon finalize the Lajaward Transit Road Agreement connect Afghanistan with the other countries.”

Under the agreement, Afghanistan will be connected to Europe through Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey.

Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey are situated along the Azure Transit Road. All these countries have robust roads and railways for transit, which will be effective for the early execution of the project.

Meanwhile Officials in Afghanistan Independent Civil Aviation Authority claimed that four billion Afghanis gained from the income of building of airports in Afghanistan.

“We mostly focused to expand the construction of the International airports in Afghanistan, like Kabul, Heart, Kandahar and Balkh provinces, in addition efforts launched to build airports in other provinces.” Afghanistan Independent Civil Aviation Authority Spokesman Mohammad Qasim Rahimi said.

Based on the estimation of the ARAZI Afghanistan Independent Land Authority, around 1, 3 million acres of lands have been grabbed, but the organization insisted over presenting two strategic plans to resolve the issue.

The ARAZI Afghanistan Independent Land Authority Spokesman Hussein Rahimi said, “We will present two strategic plans for five years to prevent land grabbing, restitution of seized lands across the country, political wills and work are underway to solve the issue.”

Afghan officials have repeatedly informed of illegal land grabbing but they have not made any efforts regarding to this issue.

Earlier, the national and international watchdogs accused the Afghan government of failing to restitute the grabbed lands back to the Government control.
